The Hook
Seraphina Krin is a half-elf, half-witch growing up in Magovia, a world where magic defines identity and worth. Unlike everyone around her, she has no magical ability, leaving her feeling like an outsider and quietly convinced she will never measure up.
When the Heart of the World—the source of all magic—is stolen, Magovia begins to unravel. Magic weakens, creatures disappear, and the fabric of the realm starts to collapse. With only until dawn before the world is lost, Seraphina is unexpectedly drawn into a mission to recover it. As the magical world begins to fade, something within her starts to stir.
With her talking dog and two unlikely friends, she must journey through dangerous, enchanted realms to uncover a secret that may save both Magovia and the human world… or doom them forever.
Along the way, they face a powerful sorcerer known as the Walker Among Worlds, whose plans threaten the balance between the two realms.

Aleksandra Filipovic is an award-winning author of middle-grade and children’s fiction known for high-concept storytelling, strong crossover appeal, and franchise potential. Her work has been included in school reading lists, adapted for radio, and translated into other languages.
She is the author of the Seraphina Krin fantasy series, published in Serbia by Laguna, the country’s leading publisher. The series has received national recognition, including the Dositej’s Pen Award (voted on by a jury of hundreds of children), and has been shortlisted for major literary prizes. It is included in elementary school curricula and distributed in public libraries in Serbia and in translation. The series has established international traction, including publication in Ukraine and acquisition for public library distribution there.
The Seraphina Krin series is conceived with cinematic scope and is well positioned for film and television adaptation.
Her work features immersive worldbuilding, memorable characters, and a balance of adventure, humor, and emotional depth, with themes of identity, belonging, and resilience that resonate with both middle-grade and crossover audiences.
